ILNS Photowalk 3 Sunrise Walk
A couple of months ago, we organised one of our I Love North Shields sunrise walks, and it turned out to be a brilliant morning.
It was a 7.30am start on a cold winter Sunday, which is never the easiest sell. Getting people out of bed that early, especially at that time of year, can be tough, so having around 40 people turn up was amazing. Seeing that many familiar and new faces ready to shoot at that time of day really meant a lot.
This one felt particularly special for me because I’m quite well known for my sunrise photos. Early mornings on the coast are something I genuinely love, and I’m always encouraging people to experience North Shields at that time of day. It’s quieter, less rushed, and the light can be completely different to any other time.
We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better sunrise. The colours changed constantly, and the light was ideal for photography, soft enough to create depth and detail but strong enough to really bring the sky to life. It gave everyone the chance to capture some really memorable images.
More than anything, it was great to see people making the effort, supporting each other and starting their Sunday in such a positive way. It proved that even on a cold winter morning, people will show up for something that feels worthwhile.
