The Roundhouses
Wether Hill
I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Roundhouses, a collection of three luxury glamping pods set within the breathtaking Northumberland landscape. Nestled beneath wide skies with uninterrupted views across the Cheviot Hills, this is a place that instantly encourages you to slow down and breathe.
The Roundhouses are beautifully designed, with their unique circular architecture creating a space that feels both modern and wonderfully cosy. Each hut is named after a Northumberland hill fort dating back to the Bronze and Iron Ages, Brough Law, Middle Dean and Wether Hill, a thoughtful nod to the area’s rich history. Individually designed and finished to an incredibly high standard, each pod offers the perfect escape from the noise and pace of everyday life.
I stayed in Wether Hill, purely because the soft pink colour scheme caught my eye (honestly, that’s all it takes). From the moment I arrived, it felt like a little dream. The attention to detail throughout the space is exceptional, and when paired with those sweeping countryside views, it makes for a truly special stay. As a photographer, it was an absolute joy to capture, every corner thoughtfully styled, every window framing the landscape like a painting.
Of course, no Northumberland trip is complete without a stop at The Running Fox, my favourite café in the county and an absolute must whenever I’m nearby. The perfect place to pause, refuel, and soak up even more of what makes this area so special.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, beautifully designed retreat surrounded by nature and one that’s as inspiring as it is relaxing, The Roundhouses are something truly special.
